About Chris
So this is where I talk about myself and it’s honestly tough know where to begin. The reality is that this whole website tells that story better than I could in this cramped space. That said, you see the two most important people drawing breath on this earth in the image. I married way above my pay grade when Jocelyn said, “Yes”; and Julia came along two years later to the day.
I have a background in engineering, but anyone will tell you I’m unlike any engineer you’ve met. I use this strange blend of strategic, communication and artistic talents to enhance and challenge for-profit and non-profit organizations in Metro Detroit and as far away as Andhra Pradesh, India.
I grew up in rural Michigan, received dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Liberal Arts and began my career as a manufacturing consultant in the automotive industry, eventually completing Masters’ studies in Systems Engineering. It was the way people, process and organizations exist and interact that captured my imagination and passion.
I shifted my focus toward process and leadership infrastructure development, helping complex organizations become more streamlined, efficient and life-giving. After a successful tenure in industry, I made a pivotal decision to leave the marketplace and explore the larger story at work in the world and in the lives of people.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that there was a creative side to me that simply would not be denied. I picked up photography in college and got way more serious about it after a life-changing adventure in India. My camera and a lens or two are now my closest companions outside of my family. I’ve since formed JCC Creative and use my talents to connect with people, nonprofits and businesses and help tell their stories.
By the way – don’t tell my clients, but I get a big charge out of meeting someone for the first time and giving them a complimentary and impromptu portrait session right on the spot.
