We recently attended the wedding of one of Julia‘s very favorite babysitters, Miss Megan. The wedding was simple and stunningly beautiful; and I felt like Julia grasped a little bit of the gravity of the moment. She even did her best to sing the hymns with us. It was pretty damned cool to sing with my girl!

She was all decked out in a twirly dress of blue lace that beautifully fit her, with summer sandals and a bracelet or two completing the ensemble.

As we loitered during the cocktail hour, a moment came where the joy of the party and Julia’s willingness intersected and I was so glad I always carry my camera with me.

What follows are nine images out of the twenty or so frames that I took. It was a simple exchange of fun and whimsy and I think it captures the joy and freedom she felt at the beginning of this new season of her friend’s life.

Not long after, Julia was wowing everyone on the dance floor with her exuberant moves!
